The online theoretical training on Inclusive and Adapted Fencing, developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Fencing without Barriers”, has officially begun. The project is co-funded by the European Union and aims to promote accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities in the sport of fencing.

Over the coming weeks, participants will have the opportunity to explore key concepts, methodologies, and good practices related to inclusive and adapted fencing. The training is designed to strengthen knowledge and awareness around the ways in which fencing can become more accessible to people with disabilities and to broader groups of participants.

The first sessions focus on two important introductory themes: the history of fencing and the history and development of para fencing. These topics provide the foundation for understanding the evolution of the sport, as well as the importance of adapted approaches that support participation for all.

This educational activity marks the beginning of an important learning journey within the project, contributing to the wider objective of removing barriers in sport and fostering a more inclusive fencing community at European level.

Through the “Fencing without Barriers” project, partners continue to work together towards a future in which sport is open, accessible, and welcoming to everyone.
